2024 Mourvèdre
Sourced from a remarkable 100+ year-old, old-vine vineyard in the Russian River Valley, our 2024 Mourvèdre is a rare and soulful expression of this historic site. With just 50 cases produced, this bottling honors both the resilience of the vines and the depth of character they naturally yield.
The aromatics are intense and layered - dark plum and blackberry rise from the glass, interwoven with cracked black pepper, dried thyme, and a subtle lift of citrus zest. Beneath the fruit lies an earthy complexity that speaks to vine age and place.
On the palate, the wine is vibrant yet commanding. Ripe plum and dark berry flavors unfold alongside savory spice and a touch of baker’s chocolate. Chewy, structured tannins provide weight and texture, while a thread of bright acidity keeps the wine energetic and focused. The finish lingers with notes of sweet spice and warm earth, leaving a lasting impression of depth and authenticity.
Fermented with native yeast and aged 16 months in neutral French oak, this Mourvèdre was crafted to preserve purity of fruit and allow the vineyard’s voice to remain front and center. The restrained oak regimen enhances structure without overshadowing nuance.
Compelling in its youth, yet built for evolution, this wine promises to deepen and soften beautifully over time. As it matures, its savory elements will grow more pronounced, its tannins more integrated, and its complexity even more captivating — a true testament to old vines and patient craftsmanship.
